After thousands of downloads and hundreds of positive reviews, I’m delighted to be able to share my science fiction book, the Alien Corps, with all SF fans! This is a full length novel, introducing the heroine Hickory Lace and her crew in their first adventure on an alien planet.
The Alien Corps, book one in the fantastic space adventure series, Prosperine, is a story of single-minded heroism, the search for identity and meaning…and of hope for the future.

Prosperine is a series of page-turning science fiction books for young adults. Book 1, The Alien Corps, will delight fans of sci fi space opera books.
On the planet Prosperine, intelligent life has evolved like no other in our universe. The inhabitants might look human—more or less—but they do hatch from eggs. It comes as a shock, then, when one of the locals is reported to be performing miracles.
Hickory Lace and her crew, space pilot Jess Parker and the young genius Gareth Blanquette, are sent to check out the situation. If they can survive the savage beasts and carnivorous plants, a bloody civil war, and a sinister alien plot, they might discover something truly astonishing about the mystic known as “the Teacher.”
If you enjoy futuristic science fiction with a touch of the supernatural and strong female characters, then you’ll love this imaginative thriller. It’s also available in paperback and audiobook formats.

Wow. Just wow!
The premise is fascinating: A newly discovered religious text convinces the Vatican to scour the Universe looking for the Son of God. Fifty years on they are starting to lose hope…
Enter Hickory, an empath with serious daddy-issues. Chosen to lead a team of specialists to investigate a religious prophet on a distant world.
And then the subplots kick in: a murder, FTL-fuel smugglers, betrayals galore, assassination plots, a violent coup, and my favorite; a really cool alien race (the Bikashi). Twists abound as the story unfolds.
It’s an excellent premise, executed well and the ending is satisfying. All of the threads are resolved with plenty of setup for the coming sequel.
I was thoroughly impressed and would enjoy reading future books from this author.

I recommend this book to Sci-fi, Fantasy and dystopian readers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced Sci-fi adventure and was very quickly drawn into the world of Hickory and her team.
I liked the intelligent consideration of various interesting themes that weaved around the action.
Religion, the involvement of highly developed planets in emerging planets especially when the less advanced planet possess a scarce but valuable mineral, corruption and greed.
Opposing the negatives of humanity there was friendship, loyalty, courage and a hope for a better future.
But mostly I enjoyed this book as it told an imaginative story full of suspense and adventure and I lost myself for a few hours on the planet of Prosperine.

About the Author
I dropped out of the corporate rat-race when I reached 56, and decided to try something more creatively satisfying. I took up painting and stained glass lead lighting, and then I joined a local creative writing class.
I loved it, and for the first year or so tried my hand at short stories. You can still find them here.
My biggest challenge was my first novel which turned out well (for which I will be forever grateful to my editor and mentor, Rachael Blackbirdsong). You can read about the characters and setting for Small Fish Big Fish here.
I then went on to write science fiction, and have completed (hopefully) some of the best science fiction books for young adults on the market. I find the trade of writing immensely satisfying, but I’m hungry for more!
