Brief Description

clean science fantasy books

The Alien Corps will delight fans of sci fi space opera books, and appeal to readers looking for science fiction books without coarse language, erotica, or extreme violence. If pressed, I’d describe the Alien Corps as PG rated science fiction and fantasy that presents a broad perspective of the Christian message.

Intelligent life on the planet Prosperine has evolved like no other in our universe. The inhabitants might look human—more or less—but they do hatch from eggs. Not surprisingly, Earth’s hierarchy is shocked when one of the locals is reported to be performing miracles.

Hickory Lace and her Alien Corps crewmates, space pilot Jess Parker and the young genius Gareth Blanquette, head off to investigate. When they arrive, they are faced with feral beasts, carnivorous plants, a civil war, and a sinister alien plot. Assuming they survive, the Corps will discover something truly astonishing about the mystic known as “the Teacher.”

If you are searching for a clean science fiction book featuring strong female characters with a touch of the supernatural, you’ll love this imaginative adventure. The Alien Corps is also available in paperback and audiobook formats.

Wow. Just wow!

The premise is fascinating: A newly discovered religious text convinces the Vatican to scour the Universe looking for the Son of God. Fifty years on they are starting to lose hope…

Enter Hickory, an empath with serious daddy-issues. Chosen to lead a team of specialists to investigate a religious prophet on a distant world.

And then the subplots kick in: a murder, FTL-fuel smugglers, betrayals galore, assassination plots, a violent coup, and my favorite; a really cool alien race (the Bikashi). Twists abound as the story unfolds.

It’s an excellent premise, executed well and the ending is satisfying. All of the threads are resolved with plenty of setup for the coming sequel.

I was thoroughly impressed and would enjoy reading future books from this author.
Happily recommended.

Recommended for Sci-fi, Fantasy, and dystopian readers.

I liked the intelligent consideration of various interesting themes that weaved around the action.

This fast paced Sci-fi adventure was very enjoyable and I was very quickly drawn into the world of Hickory and her team.

Religion, the involvement of highly developed planets in emerging planets especially when the less advanced planet possess a scarce but valuable mineral, corruption and greed.

Opposing the negatives of humanity there was friendship, loyalty, courage and a hope for a better future.

But mostly I enjoyed this book as it told an imaginative story full of suspense and adventure and I lost myself for a few hours on the planet of Prosperine.

Do you like good Sci fi?

If you like good science fiction books then you will enjoy reading The Alien Corps by P J McDermott.

This book is action packed and full of plot twist and turns.

The author has done a great job of developing a tale that one large adventure and a story with an intriguing spin to it.

It was easy to read and follow even with all the twist and turns. I found it hard to take a break from reading.

P J McDermott has put together a cast of characters that are easy to believe in. They are real and very identifiable, and they brought the story to life.

I really enjoyed reading the Alien Corps and highly recommend this book to all readers.

About the Author

PJ McDermott

I dropped out of the corporate rat-race when I reached the ripe old age of 56. I decided to try something more creatively satisfying. First on the list were pencil sketching and stained glass lead lighting. Then I joined a local creative writing class.

During the first year or two, I tried my hand at short stories and soon published my first. I found writing to be an absorbing experience and felt over the moon when I received my first positive review. You can still find them here.

My first novel was a big challenge, but it turned out well. I will be forever thankful to my editor and mentor, Rachael Blackbirdsong for her sage advice. You can read about the characters and setting for Small Fish Big Fish here.

After that, I began to write science fiction books for young adults. In conclusion, I find the trade of writing immensely satisfying, but I’m hungry for more!

Love to hear from you!
